Batchfive is a startup building a procedural material tool for 3D artists. Give it one starting point and it spins out a full set of surfaces, so nobody has to build each look by hand. The brand had to sit on the same screen as the tools those artists use all day, and look like it belonged there.
3D artists spend their days inside crowded software. Viewports, node trees, sliders and numbers on every panel. A material tool lives in that world, so the identity was built to speak its language rather than smooth it over.
The mark is the fixed point. A B and a 5 drawn as one shape, the first two characters of the name. Everything else is free to move around it.
And around it, the layouts fill up. Real material data runs across every surface: albedo, roughness, normal maps, seed values, scan IDs. Headlines stack solid type against red outlines. Points gather out of a drifting cloud, the way a scanned surface is rebuilt into something usable.
What keeps it from tipping into noise is a strict set of rules. Red only ever marks data. Everything sits on a grey-black or a bluish lilac, with Noria setting the headlines. However much is on the page, it reads as one system, and the mark still lands first.
